New York City is the biggest city in the US. Situated in the midsection of the New York metropolitan region that includes areas in the neighboring states of Connecticut and New Jersey, this area has one of the highest population density of the entire world. New York City is the home of the United Nations, major corporations and media outlets that allow New York to exert powerful influence around the globe in mercantilism, refinement, fashion, entertainment, food and finance.

Many visitors are under the bad assumption that New York City is synonymous for the borough of Manhattan and its famous skyline, however the truth is New York also includes four more boroughs: Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island.

New York City has many monikers; some of the more identified one are “The City”, Capital of the World, the Big Apple and Gotham.
